Eco-luxe @ mount avoca opened in 2009 and offers luxury and tranquillity in the heart of the pyrenees. These large slabs of bluestone, mined locally in portland are designed to capture the heat of the day and re-radiate it during the night. The cladding is native australian cypress pine from managed plantations and is naturally resistant to termites and rot. The floors are native australian spotted gum. We have placed passive solar heat banks at the foot of the living and bed room windows. No cement used - cement is incredibly environmentally unfriendly, it produces 8per cent of all co2 emissions world wide and it is not recyclable. The polished spotted gum floor leads to the fully carpeted bedroom for the perfect end to the perfect day. The ecological architecturally designed to maximise passive heating and cooling, eco-friendly materials have been used wherever possible to minimise the carbon foot-print. Floor to ceiling italian stone envelopes this utterly relaxing space. The bathroom is on a decadent scale and features a shower, spa-bath and shines with natural light. Wall to wall windows offer postcard views from both the bedroom and living room. The luxurious architecturally designed; a large living area with kitchenette opens onto a balcony with views of the pyrenees ranges. An ideal launching pad to discover local wineries, scenic walks and secret historic sites, or just kick back and relax and enjoy peace and quiet. Each lodge provides a king-size bed with million dollar views, a self-contained kitchenette and living area with an enormous travertine lined bathroom with spa. Feel the stress roll off and the peace and quiet engulf you as you enter your own sanctuary. Three almost identical lodges high above the vines on the edge of the olive grove overlook the vineyards, mountains and valleys of the pyrenees. Each lodge collects its own watertank and is self-sufficient.

The estate is located fair exterior the town of Avoca. This historic quaint town was a pioneer in the Gold Rush era, shaping premature Victoria in the 1850s and confirming its importance as an idyllic location for mining and agriculture. The vines are also accompanied by an olive grove of 100 trees. Currently owned and operating lower it’s 3 rd generation owners, Lisa and Matthew Barry, the couple and their family have introduced an environmental ethos and practice to wine making, awarding them an Australian Organic Classification. With the inception of three EcoLuxe environmentally aware, boutique lodges in 2009, the Barry’s continue to provide premium quality bear and service to tourists and the community of Avoca. Led by second generation owner winemaker, Matthew Barry, the wine making team at Mount Avoca has lofty the wine quality and recaptured the magic that made Mount Avoca one of the superior and certainly the maximum innovative winery in the region. Implementing this strategy included the lengthy journey to stuffed organic certification and has resulted in medals and reviews consistently at the highest conceivable levels and a red 5 star Halliday rating. The Pyrenees Wine Region is one of Australia's finest wine regions. Often underrated, the wines are intensely flavored and carry the hallmarks of individuality and character. The wineries are understated, insignificant and publicity shy, possibly a reason for the region flying lower the radar for almost 50 years. Arguably one of Victoria's best kept secrets, the automatic beauty of the region is only surpassed by its splendid wines.
